STUTTGART 21: CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
14th chalice-shaped column poured with Ha-Be concrete admixtures
The construction of the new main station in Stuttgart is progressing. Now, the construction of the chalice-shaped columns has been celebrated: The 14th of a total of 28 columns was poured. Ha-Be supplies the concrete admixtures for the unique columns.
The concrete for the chalice-shaped columns was produced with our admixtures from the PANTARHIT
® line, the stabiliser STABILISIERER D (ST) and the retarding admixture PANTARHOL
® 85 (VZ). 815 m
3 of concrete will be used per column.
Our Ha-Be Tunnel team is providing concrete technology support for the project. The demands on the concrete are very high. High-flow concrete (LVB) is used for the entire project. This must be fire-resistant, have long workability, strong mixing stability, high strength and a low-porosity appearance.
The columns, each with a diameter of 32 m and a height of 12 m, will support the future roof of the platform hall, where they will let in daylight by means of light eyes. Construction of the roof is scheduled for completion in 2023.
